FINAL DIARY PAGE, TORN OUT, LEFT FOLDED ON HER PILLOW

Dear Everyone,

If you find this letter, it means I didn’t come back, because I’m gonna destroy this way before it gets to anybody if I succeed.

I think I found where the monster that’s behind this place lives. (Of course the bathroom ghost was talking about bathrooms. Duh.) I’m going to confront it, and hopefully end this. I don’t know how. In the stories, it seems like the hero always comes up with a plan right when they meet the ancient evil, so I’m not too worried about that. But, sometimes, the hero dies saving everybody. I think I’m okay with that. When I think about all the good I can do for everyone else, what happens to me doesn’t seem to matter.

I’m sorry for how I’ve acted. It wasn’t right of me, to be so mean, even if I’m trying to help everyone. Sportacus always likes to let us get to the solutions of problems by ourselves; telling us how we’re wrong wouldn’t stick as a lesson, but learning for ourselves always does. Patience is a really important heroic trait to have. I don’t have it. I can’t wait for everybody else to figure it out. Not when every other week means more dead bodies on my conscience.

I’m sorry this didn’t end well for me. I can only hope it ended well for you. I’m sorry, Nene, Noah, Kiyotaka, Hiro, Crona, [there appears to have been several other names here, but they have all been so violently scratched out that it’s impossible to make them out.] Please, enjoy your happy endings. It’s all I ever wanted.

I’m not scared. I’ve never been less scared in my life. Because if the life of one person can spare so many from a fate worse than death...

Well. That’s a pretty good deal. I think some people call that “hope.”

With All My Love,
Stephanie Meanswell

P.s. If any of you ever find yourselves in Lazytown, please tell my uncle that I’m okay. Tell Sportacus what happened. And if you find my grave there, I’ve always liked daisies the best.
